Boomer: Giants season is 'toast' if they can't beat Commanders on Sunday

The Giants greet the Commanders on Sunday, and Boomer says it is the team’s biggest game since Odell Beckham Jr. and company infamously posed for a photo on a boat in Miami five years ago.

“I was trying to think about the last time the Giants had a game this big, this late in the year, and it has to be the boat year,” Boomer said. “This is huge for them. And it looks like they’re gonna get some guys back, which is really good.”

More importantly, the game is a winnable one in the eyes of Boomer, but the stakes are incredibly high in that if New York loses, Boomer says the team’s chances of getting back to the playoffs for the first time since that boat trip photo was snapped will be gone.

“They’re gonna be playing against a team that, while they have been winning, it hasn’t been pretty,” Boomer said. “It has been a grind for the Washington Commanders.

“To be realistic about what’s going on right now, if they lose this game, it’s done. They’re done. I think they’re toast. That’s why this game is so important for them.”
