The short and disappointing Kadarius Toney tenure in New York is over, after the Giants traded the young but oft-injured wide receiver to the Chiefs on Thursday.

The reaction from Boomer? Good riddance.

“He wasn’t doing what he was being asked to do,” Boomer said. “It’s not that hard. It’s relatively simple. Every now and again you run into a player that has no self-awareness, has no understanding of what the responsibilities are…because maybe he’s been placated his entire life and has been able to do whatever he wants to do because of his talent.

“It’s a guy that wasn’t gonna help us anyway, and has become a problem for all different reasons.”

Now, Toney has a chance to play alongside Patrick Mahomes and the electric Chiefs offense, and Boomer says if his issues while with the Giants follow him to Kansas City, then that would be a major indictment.

“If he is bitching and complaining about getting traded to Kansas City,” Boomer said. “Then the problem truly is him.”
