Boomer: Seems like Giants feel 'stuck' with Daniel Jones after latest Hard Knocks

Boomer and Gio are loving Offseason Hard Knocks with the Giants so far, and the second episode was “football porn” in the eyes of Gio, who still can’t believe Big Blue allowed so much revealing content to be used in the show.

Boomer agrees, and found the parts of Tuesday night’s episode that centered around the team’s pursuit of a new quarterback to be the most enlightening.

“The moment that Joe Schoen goes over to New England and says what he says, and the moment they’re interviewing quarterbacks, they’re not really talking about Daniel Jones, but they really are talking about Daniel Jones,” Boomer said. “Because they don’t know what to expect from Daniel Jones.

“You look at the injuries…you then take what Joe Buck said during one of their games when Brian Daboll was lamenting to Joe Buck that he has to be the energy and needs his quarterback to be the energy, and then you take what Rich Eisen said about the Giants being done with Daniel Jones, essentially, they’re stuck with Daniel Jones. As I’m sitting here this morning, that’s how I look at it.”

Multiple reports indicated that the Giants were interested in trading up to acquire a quarterback like Drake Maye leading up to the draft, and the latest Hard Knocks all but confirms that, and Boomer and Gio can’t help but applaud the team, and the show, for giving that kind of honest insight into how the offseason unfolded.

“I was surprised at the level of which the Giants were testing the quarterbacks and interviewing the quarterbacks,” Boomer said. “And walking into the Patriots room.”
