The hits just keep coming for the Giants, even after a win.

One week after losing their most important player on offense in Jaxson Dart, Big Blue has now lost its most important defensive piece, as ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reports that Brian Burns will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL.

Burns, who suffered an ankle injury late in the team's Week 2 loss to the Rams, went down in the second half after taking a bump in the backfield while chasing down the quarterback. John Harbaugh told reporters after the game that there was "some hope" that Burns had avoided the worst, but an MRI revealed that Burns' season is over after just three games.

The Giants now lose their best defensive performer from last season, as Burns finished 2025 with 16.5 sacks. Big Blue's pass rush, expected to be a strength of the team, has already produced underwhelming results so far this season, and with Burns out, it could get even worse.

There is no point in sugarcoating this for the Giants. They wake up 2-1 on Monday morning, but for a second straight week, they also wake up to crushing injury news that will cost one of their best players the rest of the season.
