After BT declared the Knicks as the most well-run team in New York, producer Pete Hoffman countered with the Yankees, and then the Giants.
BT understood the Yankee argument given their consistent run of competitiveness, but the Giants? Absolutely not, and it turned into BT wondering how long Brian Daboll will be the head coach if he continues to clash with coordinators and coaches, as has been reported.
“If it doesn’t go well with Daboll [next season], and if Brian Daboll - who I like, support, and believe in - if Brian Daboll doesn’t look in the mirror and do a little soul searching and change a little bit, the Giants are gonna have their fourth head coach in eight years,” BT said.
Daboll and Wink Martindale reportedly butted heads during the season, and Daboll’s fiery nature on the sidelines reportedly rubbed some coaches the wrong way. BT has seen that kind of demeanor lead to a loss of a job, which he could see happening if Big Blue doesn’t improve next season.
“That’s emblematic of a well-run team?” BT asked. “I don’t think so.”
