Giants head coach Brian Daboll made it know right away when talking with reporters on Friday that he would not be discussing the team’s meeting with Odell Beckham Jr. on Thursday night.
Daboll simply disclosed that the team did in fact meet with the free agent receiver, and had some tasty steak while talking about a potential reunion.
“We had dinner with him last night. We had a good visit,” Daboll said. “Other than that, I have nothing else to add.
“My focus is on Washington…I’d just say we had a good dinner. Had a great steak.”
The Giants were reportedly Beckham’s first visit on a free agent tour that will also include the Cowboys and Bills, all three being teams that can use another weapon on the offensive side. Big Blue has the history with Beckham, but Dallas and Buffalo seem to have the advantage of being teams primed for more success in the short term.
But Daboll isn’t blinking when it comes to whether Thursday’s meeting left the Giants hopeful or doubtful that Beckham would want to reunite.
