BT and Sal took a look at a recent NFL power rankings from CBS Sports, and Sal couldn’t believe the Giants were ranked 18th heading into the season.
“They have to be top 15…I would say even top 10 potentially,” Sal said. “Do they know who the coach of the Giants is? The Giants are gonna be good this year…you cannot tell me the Giants are out of the top 15. The Commanders?”
Indeed, Washington was ranked higher than Big Blue, as were the Packers, Lions, Steelers, and Seahawks. Sal thought that was way too low of a ranking for the Giants. BT didn’t disagree as strongly, noting the gauntlet of a schedule Brian Daboll and company will have to navigate.
“There’s a real chance the Giants win fewer games than they did last year,” BT said. “And are a better football team.”
As for the Jets, ranked seventh, Sal would have placed them a little higher as well.
“Personally, I would make them top five,” Sal said. “I wouldn’t put anyone else in the NFC in the top five.
“I don’t like the Chargers or anyone else in the west…I would put the Jets in my top five. I would put them fifth.”
