BT & Sal can't believe Dexter Lawrence caught heat for not being available for postgame comments

Dexter Lawrence opened up his media availability on Monday by addressing criticism that surfaced on Sunday after he was not in the Giants locker room to talk to reporters after New York was steamrolled 49-17 by the rival Cowboys.

Lawrence called the criticism “ridiculous,” adding that he had wanted to go straight to spend time with his family after the game to celebrate his birthday, which was on Sunday. Lawrence added that he talks to the media after every game, no matter how it ends, and shouldn’t be called out for one instance where he was not present.

BT and Sal were in full agreement with Big Blue’s star nose tackle.

“They crossed a line,” Sal said. “Let’s not make it like every player needs to be available every single time. Dexter Lawrence isn’t running from anything. He isn’t hiding from anything. If anything, he’s been the best player on the team this year. If he’s got to leave because it’s his birthday and he wants to see his family, is the guy not allowed to do that? Come on, give me a break.

“It’s not like he did something wrong and we needed to hear from him…if he’s not available one game, when it’s not his fault why the Giants got their asses kicked, leave him be.”

BT was in full agreement with his co-host, and had nothing but a glowing review for Lawrence.

“He’s a stand-up guy,” BT said. “I love him, he’s an awesome player…I think that’s weak, and good for him defending himself.”
