BT & Sal: Giants may no longer need to worry about drafting their future quarterback

Some Giants fans are worried that the rise of Tommy DeVito and the accompanying winning streak for Big Blue have derailed the team’s chance to draft a top quarterback to be the future of the franchise.

BT and Sal wonder if DeVito’s sudden rise has solved that problem, and Big Blue no longer needs to draft a quarterback in 2024.

“It’s all there. It’s all happening,” Sal said. “The New York Giants have their quarterback. As of now, the Giants have their quarterback…if he keeps playing like this, you don’t have to draft a quarterback next year.

“Tommy DeVito is better than any quarterback the Giants have, and could be better than anybody you can draft. He’s doing it. You’re drafting somebody in hopes that they can do it…you should not be overlooking just because of where he came from and where you think he’s gonna be. He’s doing it.”

BT won’t dismiss that possibility, and is also on board with DeVito potentially becoming the Giants franchise quarterback against all odds.

“You go from ‘Are we picking second, are we picking third?’ to, as Sal just said, ‘We might not even have to draft a quarterback,’ and I don’t necessarily think that’s crazy. I truly don’t,” BT said. “You can’t definitively say that he’s not…don’t tell me the Giants absolutely have to take a quarterback. Now, everything is on the table.”
