We’ve got Dan Orlovsky saying that Bill Belichick is leaving New England and his next destination is already known, which one host on our sibling station in DC thinks leaves it down to one already-vacancy in Las Vegas and two almost certain ones in Washington or Chicago.
But then, on Wednesday morning, Boomer & Gio discussed the idea of Belichick wanting to come back to New York to maybe finish his career with the Giants, and whether or not John Mara could say no to that if he has a Hall of Famer asking to come and a Top 2 pick to spend on a franchise QB.
Well, later in the day, BT and Sal welcomed in ex-Giants LB Jonathan Casillas, who hosts the Giants pre and post-game coverage on WFAN and also played for Belichick for one season, and he greenlit a return to NJ for BB as HC of the NYG...with a caveat.
“I’ll take it, I’ll take it,” Casillas laughed. “I was only there for half a season, so I only got the Super Bowl winning side of him, mostly the positives – but at the end of the day, he had Tom Brady, so it’s not if the Patriot Way isn’t there, but it doesn’t exist without Brady. The common thing between the Jets and Giants this year is the starting QB play, so he needs to have that.”
Take a listen to Casillas’ entire segment with BT & Sal above!
