The Giants offense still had loads of problems against the Bills in Week 6, but the return of Saquon Barkley helped the unit improve, as Barkley rushed for 93 yards in his first game action since Week 2.
But, with the Giants sitting at 1-5, and Barkley likely not getting a long-term deal from the only team he has ever known, BT says it’s likely time to move on.
“If that’s the case, why would you pay Saquon for next season? You wouldn’t,” BT said. “It’s a waste of money, albeit for a great player and a great young man, who embodies everything we want athletes and our kids to embody.
“I know he’s not the problem…but it’s the truth. Especially that he got hurt again, and the contract stalemate…you gotta understand, this is the end with Saquon here. It’s one more year max. So get a jump on this. It’s gonna be a painful goodbye…but your phone is going to be ringing off the hook for that guy.”
BT listed several teams that would be interested in trading for Barkley, including the Browns, Steelers, and Ravens. With teams in need of a running back, and the Giants seemingly going nowhere, BT says the Giants need to trade Barkley before the deadline later this month.
