BT: Giants should ride it out with Daniel Jones for at least next five weeks

Many Giants fans are already calling for a change at quarterback after Daniel Jones was disastrous in Week 1 against the Vikings, throwing two picks, no touchdowns, and posting a quarterback rating of 44.3.

Given Jones’ struggles last season, and the jolt Tommy DeVito provided once he took over, some fans want to see the New Jersey native back under center as the starter, but BT says he would ride with Jones for the for foreseeable future.

“I’m gonna ride Daniel Jones out for a while,” BT said. “This notion that if it doesn’t go well in the first couple of quarters against the Commanders this week, bench Daniel Jones. That’s lunacy at this point.

“Nobody knows anything about Drew Lock, and while we all love Tommy DeVito, I don’t consider him as viable as some, so I’m not doing that.”

Sal says he would “bench his ass” if Jones struggles to start against the Commanders on Sunday, but BT says Jones is their $160 million man, and while they can get out of that contract after this season, they can’t during the season, so they might as well take time to see what they have.

“Think about the commitment the Giants made to Daniel Jones. If you make that commitment, you gotta ride it out until you get your final answer,” BT said. “In the eyes of some, maybe you have gotten your final answer.

“I think Daniel Jones comes out and plays better against the Commanders. Even if he doesn’t, I’m riding him out into October before I banish him for good. I’m playing him the next five games.”
