BT has Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp dreams for Giants

Now that the Giants have hired Chad Hall, brother-in-law to Matthew Stafford, as an assistant quarterbacks coach, fans in New York are wondering if Stafford could become Big Blue’s quarterback in 2025.

Not only is Hall now in New York, but the Rams are reportedly interested in trading the 37-year-old Stafford, and multiple teams will likely be interested. But Brandon Tierney wouldn’t stop at Stafford. He would also have his eyes on a former Super Bowl MVP and Stafford’s top receiving target with the Rams.

“Can I see a situation next year where you have Stafford, Cooper Kupp, Nabers, a young, cheap, explosive running back? I could,” BT said. “To me, that is a lot more appealing than throwing a dart and hoping Sanders is the guy. More and more, I don’t think he is.

“I think those guys are so tight, I think Kupp would follow him here.”

The Giants would have to give up assets to bring in both players, but BT notes that New York wouldn’t have to pick as high as third overall if they brought in proven talents like Stafford and Kupp. So, they could relinquish that pick in a potential pick swap, and part with some lesser assets as well, and completely reshape the look of their offense.

“If they get Stafford, then that third spot becomes such a pivotal place of power, where if you’re not going quarterback, now you can trade out and take the best available,” BT said. “There are a lot of interesting options here because of Stafford.”

Sal would be very interested in Stafford for the Giants, and while he isn’t sure they would be able to swing Kupp as well, it’s hard to deny the intrigue of Stafford throwing to Nabers in New York.

“Go get Matthew Stafford…he’s 37 years of age and a proven, veteran quarterback,” Sal said. “He’s not gonna take you to the ultimate level and be a Super Bowl winning quarterback with the Giants, but he does elevate where the Giants are at immediately and makes them respectable, at least from the quarterback position…and it makes it easier to fill out the rest of the roster.

“He’s far better than any of the other options…he seems like the most known commodity. Of all the other options, I think he’s the best. The only question is, do you like the potential of Ward or Sanders more than Stafford at 37?”
