A caller called in to C-Mac’s show to defend Daniel Jones, noting the weak offensive line that the Giants have had in recent years, especially last year with the Andrew Thomas injury.
The crutch of his argument was the struggles of Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl against the Buccaneers, when a porous offensive line couldn’t stop Tampa Bay’s front seven.
That was all C-Mac needed to erupt in an epic rant about Mahomes being used as a vessel to defend Jones.
“Oh, thank you very much for bringing up one of my favorite points,” C-Mac said. “Let me know again, how bad was he in the Super Bowl with that offensive line that was so terrible that he took them all the way TO THE SUPER BOWL!”
“Thank you for bringing up that tremendous point that I hear two times a day on this radio station about how Patrick Mahomes, even the great Patrick Mahomes failed in the Super Bowl against a good defensive front and the Tampa Bay Bucs when he had a poor offensive line. Such a poor offensive line that he managed to figure out how to get all the way to the Super Bowl with.
“You have to admit that is the dumbest, stupidest insane argument I've ever heard that.”
In short, to answer the caller’s question, C-Mac does indeed think the Giants would have been miles and miles better than they were last season had Mahomes been the quarterback, even with their shoddy offensive line play.
