C-Mac: Brian Daboll, Joe Schoen had Giants fans 'fooled'

No, C-Mac still doesn’t believe Brian Daboll is the next Joe Judge, but he does feel as if he was bamboozled by the current Giants regime, fooled into thinking the ship was heading in the right direction after last year’s trip to the divisional round.

“This coach had me fooled,” C-Mac said. “This coach had me fooled that we actually had a coach, and they actually had a program here, and they were actually going somewhere. Joe Schoen had me fooled that he was actually in the process of building a roster, and that we were heading in the right direction.

“There were plenty of reasons you could look at this and see this team being not quite as successful as last season…but you expected to see something in the progress area. Nothing is better. Nothing.”

C-Mac expected some regression, considering the schedule was much tougher this season, the Giants likely wouldn’t have the same fortunes they did last year in late-and-close games, and they had mainly fully healthy seasons from Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley. But he certainly didn’t anticipate an all-out freefall from last year’s high, to the point where Daboll and Joe Schoen have already seen their honeymoon phase end.

“The season is over, and I’m disappointed in the coach, and I’m disappointed in the GM,” C-Mac said. “This team is a joke.”
