C-Mac: Daniel Jones won't be missed much if he doesn't play, and that's a problem

Daniel Jones will likely sit out for another week, though C-Mac doesn’t believe that does much to change the Giants chances of upsetting the Jets on Sunday.

That realization for C-Mac represents a problem for the Giants.

“Don’t you think that’s a problem for a $40 million a year quarterback, that I’m really not concerned that he’s not playing?” C-Mac said. “I understand that speaks to the level of backup they present, and Tyrod Taylor is a decent quarterback, but I would think that if you pay a quarterback $40 million a year, you would be disappointed if he couldn’t play.

“I want him back as soon as he’s able to come back. But do I think they have a much better or worse chance against the Jets depending on who the quarterback is? I do not, and that’s not where you want to be with a $40 million quarterback who is supposed to be your franchise.”

C-Mac believes Jones has avoided criticism for too long, and that the blame always falls on the offensive line. But with Taylor starting the past two weeks, the offense hasn’t been a machine by any means, but it has done enough to give the team a chance to win, and C-Mac doesn’t see much of a drop-off with Jones sidelined. That is an issue when Jones was just given a hefty four-year contract.

“If he’s healthy, bring him back, but if he comes back, do I feel like they win without question? No,” C-Mac said. “I don’t feel like he really impacts the game at all.”
