C-Mac: Jets are all the hype, but Giants have big expectations of their own to live up to

It’s football week at the FAN, and the Jets have dominated a lot of the conversation with less than a week to go before the start of their most hyped season in years, maybe even decades.

But C-Mac says the other team in New York has its own hype and expectations, and have a lot to live up to.

“Just because the Jets have gotten all this praise and hype…I don’t think the Giants have been able to escape certain levels of hype,” C-Mac said.

“When you sign the contract Daniel Jones signed, and you’re the reason one of the best running backs in the league had to be signed…when you’re a sixth overall draft pick…you give him more weapons, there are expectations, and there is hype around Daniel Jones. He has to live up to it.”

Can the Giants live up to expectations after an improbable run last season that led to a playoff win on the road? C-Mac believes they can, and it’s because of Brian Daboll.

“I haven’t felt like the Giants were in such good hands since Tom Coughlin, and even then, I don’t think I felt this good,” C-Mac said. “I don’t think they’re gonna sneak by anyone. I don’t think anyone’s not gonna see the Giants coming this year.

“They won a lot of tight games last year, and Daboll has to live up to that. Year two typically needs to be better than year one…We can talk about the Jets hype, but there is Giant hype and expectations. They need to live up to it.”
