Saquon Barkley is still a Giant after Tuesday’s trade deadline came and went, with reports indicating that New York had decided on the running back’s fate well before deadline day.
C-Mac found that to be an unacceptable tactic from the Giants, especially if they weren’t even willing to entertain potential trade offers.
“Yet again, the Giants made a mistake not trading Saquon Barkley,” C-Mac said. “The reports are - and this pisses me off - I understand they love him…but it doesn’t make sense to me football wise.
“I find it very hard to believe the GM and the coach feel as strongly as to not answer the phone. If it is true that they were not even taking calls on Saquon Barkley…that’s borderline malpractice. It’s frustrating to me as a Giants fan, because I don’t understand not answering the phone.”
C-Mac says the Giants now need to franchise tag Barkley again this offseason, though they could have gotten some real draft assets back in a trade had they been more open to making the move. Instead, they are left with a lost season and a lost opportunity to build for the future.
“There is no reason that not every single player on this stinking team is open to phone calls,” C-Mac said. “Especially one you decided not to give a contract to.”
