C-Mac doesn’t want to see Daniel Jones as the Giants starting quarterback when he is recovered from ACL surgery, but he is concerned that if Big Blue stabilizes and starts winning some games down the stretch, that is exactly what will happen.
“I’m done with Daniel Jones. I respect him…but it hasn’t worked,” C-Mac said. “Two of the last three years now, he’s dealt with a season-ending injury.
“Tommy DeVito, it’s a nice story and I’m interested to see what he can be, but he’s not going to play so well that he’s the starting quarterback going into next season. The better he plays, the more he wins, the more likely Daniel Jones is the quarterback of this team. Not that it is a death sentence, but I’m just done with it.”
C-Mac doesn’t see how DeVito can do enough the rest of the way to prove himself to be a promising starting quarterback over Jones moving forward, so if DeVito helps the Giants win some games to take them out of the running to draft a top quarterback, Big Blue will have to revert back to Jones, and C-Mac doesn’t find that to be an inspiring outcome at all.
