C-Mac is tired of all the excuses for Daniel Jones

When the Giants take the field on Sunday against the Cardinals, C-Mac wants to see a much better Daniel Jones than he saw on Sunday night.

In fact, he wants to see Jones succeed in spite of a shaky offensive line that may not have Andrew Thomas, rather than the shorthanded and struggling unit be a reason to give Jones a pass should he struggle in Week 2.

“I‘m still tired of the excuse making. I’m frustrated by his play in that game [against the Cowboys], but I’m so tired of the offensive line being an excuse forever,” C-Mac said. “Did the offensive line play well? No…they were worse than terrible, and I don’t think he was given a chance to win the game. But he was given a chance to make plays. They didn’t have to get shut out. They could have moved the ball. There were opportunities to make plays, and he missed every chance.

“He’s a $40 million man. I’m tired of the excuses.”

Jones earned his big contract last season by slashing his turnover numbers and leading the Giants to the playoffs, but for much of his career, he has skirted a level of criticism due to the constant changing of coaches and offensive systems, or poor offensive line play. C-Mac says that needs to stop, and Jones needs to be held accountable.

“He’s the quarterback of the New York Giants,” C-Mac said. “It’s not an offensive line you feel confident in, but when you make $40 million a year, you have to rise above.”
