A caller asked C-Mac who will become Daniel Jones’ top receiving target this season, and he says it will be Isaiah Hodgins, who went from a non-factor to one of the team’s most trusted targets down the stretch of last year’s surprise run to the divisional round.
“I think it’s gonna be Hodgins,” C-Mac said. “I think [Jones] is comfortable with him, I think last year, the best the Giants offense looked against Minnesota, Hodgins was the guy.
“I think he’s represented himself well, and I think he can be a legitimate playmaker in this league.”
C-Mac trusts the former sixth-round pick to continue his ascent after earning a new contract with the Giants, but he is hoping other wideouts eventually evolve to become the top options for Jones.
“I want it to be Wan’Dale Robinson,” C-Mac said. “I want him to be the guy who catches it for five [yards] and runs for another 15…moving on, after this year and moving forward, it should be [Jalin] Hyatt. Hyatt’s the guy. But as a rookie, I’m not sure he can run the entire route tree. I know he can get down the field and he’s a burner, I just don’t know if, in year one, he’s gonna be the No. 1 guy in the offense just yet.”
