Daniel Jones is out for the third straight game due to a neck injury, but according to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, it is not believed to be a season-ending injury.
Brian Daboll raised concern that Jones’ season could be over after he was far less committal on Jones returning after ruling him out for Sunday’s game against the Jets. But, per NFL Network’s report, Jones should be back this year, though he must be held out until he is 100 percent healthy, as not to avoid further injury.
According to Rapoport and Pelissero, Jones’ injury has caused “significant weakness” in his left arm, and while it has improved, the Giants are playing it cautious, especially after a similar injury ended his season in 2021.
Jones signed a four-year, $160 million deal before the season, a career year in which he was fully healthy and led the Giants to the divisional round. But injuries had been a concern in the years prior.
Tyrod Taylor has been the starting quarterback in place of Jones.
