The 49ers defense ripped Daniel Jones after beating the Giants last week, with multiple players suggesting he didn’t deserve his new four-year contract, calling it “ridiculous,” or even “a travesty.”
Jones brushed it off when asked about it on Thursday, but C-Mac says it’s time for the Giants quarterback to silence his critics in a must-win game against the Seahawks on Monday night.
“The 49ers think he doesn’t want to throw the ball, and he didn’t deserve the money he got. How does Daniel Jones respond to that?” C-Mac said. “Whether it’s fair or unfair what the 49ers are saying, Daniel Jones got paid $40 million a year to lead this offense, and outside of one half, he has done nothing.”
C-Mac believes Jones has skirted criticism from the majority of the Giants fanbase, but he is now getting it from his peers, and it is time for him to show up in primetime, shake the narrative of his 1-12 record under the lights, and show why he was given that contract.
“The season is on the line, and they need to show up,” C-Mac said. “Whether Saquon Barkley plays or not, whether his offensive line is playing well or not, he has to make plays.”
