Jerry, looking ahead to the offseason for the Giants, wondered what the dynamic would be like in the building for Big Blue if they take a quarterback with their first pick to be the eventual replacement for Daniel Jones.

Gio says it won’t be a problem, since Jones is “like a wet paper towel.”

“He’s the perfect guy to do that with, because he’s gonna give you no pushback,” Gio said. “This guy is like a wet paper towel. You can punch right through him.

“‘Daniel, we drafted your replacement, but you’re gonna start for a little bit.’ He’d say ‘OK, fine.’”

The Giants will pick sixth in the upcoming draft (unless they make a trade), and if Drake Maye or Michael Penix Jr. is available, and Brian Daboll believes they are the solution, Gio doesn’t see Jones putting up much of a fight.
