The Giants are drawing a lot of vitriol these days…even from some of their former own.

Scott Simonson, who was a tight end for the Giants in 2018-19, went on a Twitter rant Sunday about Dave Gettleman, roasting the Big Blue GM for being “an atrocious GM and not a good person.”
Simonson, a Jersey native, played for Gettleman for two years in Carolina (2015-16) and spent 2017 on the Panthers’ injured reserve before joining Big Blue for two seasons.
That tweet had quite the ratio – 1,360 retweets, 317 quote tweets, and 7,589 likes as of 10:30 am Monday – but Simonson wasn’t done. In further tweets, he explained his stance came in large part from the handling of an ankle injury he suffered in the 2019 preseason that cost him much of the year:
Simonson had nine catches for 84 yards and his first career TD in 12 games with the Giants in 2018, but was released with an injury settlement in September 2019 after the ankle injury and missed two months. He was re-signed in mid-November and played in five games, making two grabs for 11 yards, but he went on IR again on Dec. 28, 2019, and was released in February.

He has been out of the NFL since, so his current line over five years with Oakland, Carolina, and the Giants is 12 catches for 107 yards and that one score.
