Moose: Giants fans should be confident in 'vision' of Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll

Marc Malusis’ main takeaway from the latest episode of Offseason Hard Knocks was that John Mara is not the meddling owner that many fans criticize him to be.

But his other takeaway: the head coach and general manager have the organization moving in the right direction.

“For Daboll and Schoen, you get a sense of - and the complete and polar opposite to when Gettleman was running the Giants, when you had little to no confidence - I think as a Giant fan right now, you have to have confidence that the guys who are in decision-making positions,” Moose said. “You have to feel confident that those two gentlemen have an idea and a vision. Now they have to orchestrate that vision, carry it out, and go win games.”

The vision? Beef up the production at the point of attack, as Schoen and Daboll have made it a priority to improve the offensive and defensive lines, which Moose says is the right formula that will lead to more success.

“It’s been about the defensive line and the offensive line when the Giants have won,” Moose said. “The Giants prioritized protecting the quarterback and getting after the quarterback. Therefore, the trade with Carolina to go get Brian Burns, and the investment in the line when they got to free agency.

“The Giants believe, as an organization, that the duo of Kayvon Thibodeaux and Brian Burns, along with Dexter Lawrence up the middle, can impose their will on opposing offenses and make the opposing quarterback uncomfortable…and you know what? They’re right.”
