The Giants picked up an improbable win against the Commanders with Tommy DeVito as the starting quarterback, as now both New York football teams are operating with their third-string quarterbacks as the starter with Tim Boyle taking over for Zach Wilson.
Big Blue was seen as a candidate for a top draft pick next year, but now, Keith wonders if they have a shot to finish with a better record than their New York counterpart.
“That win was for the coaching staff. That was a reminder that this guy can coach, that Wink Martindale can coach, that Mike Kafka can coach,” Keith said of the Giants taking down Washington. “They can beat the Patriots…right after that, there’s a bye and then you play the Packers at home. They can absolutely beat the Packers. Then you have five wins. And looking at the rest of the games, the Saints, Eagles, Rams, Eagles; that last game against the Eagles could be a gimme. They could be going up against Marcus Mariota. The Rams, I think they’re a decent team, but who knows.”
The Jets currently sit at 4-6 with a tough matchup with the Dolphins on deck, while the Giants, at 3-8, won’t play an easy game all season given the state of their roster. Still, Keith believes there is a real shot that they finish with a better record than the Jets.
“I think there’s a chance the Giants could finish with the same record, or better, than the Jets,” Keith said.
