The Giants were seen as potential buyers leading up to Tuesday’s trade deadline, but their surprise 6-2 start didn’t allow general manager Joe Schoen and company to get overly aggressive with making additions.
Schoen, after the deadline came and went with no moves for Big Blue, told reporters that the asking prices were simply too high for what the team tried to do leading up to the deadline.
“We had several conversations with teams on multiple positions, but the price point didn't match up and things just didn’t work out,” Schoen said. “We were active with phone calls and trying to improve the roster, which we’ll continue to do.”
Wide receiver seemed like a potential area to upgrade for the Giants, but one of the biggest surprises in the NFL this season will continue on with its roster as is.
