Boomer: Kenny Golladay 'should be playing,' would have 25 catches already with team like Packers

Kenny Golladay told reporters he “should be playing regardless” when discussing his notable lack of playing time, and Boomer doesn’t seem to disagree with the disgruntled Giants wide receiver.

“He should be playing,” Boomer said. “I know he wants to be out there playing. Maybe that has to do with the quarterback he is playing with. He’s just not getting opportunities.

“It doesn’t seem like those two guys are on the same page. I tried to go back and look at the routes he’s been running. It doesn’t look like he’s dogging it…it looks like he’s running full speed.”

The Giants coaching staff doesn’t seem to agree, as Daniel Jones instead has targets like Sterling Shepard, David Sills, Kadarius Toney, and Wan’Dale Robinson (when healthy) through the first two games. But Boomer is convinced Golladay wouldn’t be dealing with his current predicament if he were on another team with another quarterback.

“Put Kenny Golladay on the Green Bay Packers and he probably has 25 catches already,” Boomer said. “That’s basically what it comes down to. He’s frustrated…he’s got pride, he wants to play.

“He has to be here.
He’s bound by the contract and the salary cap hit that would come if they cut him.”
