Andrew Thomas, the Giants’ best offensive lineman, reportedly underwent surgery on his left ankle, the same ankle he had surgery on after his rookie year.

According to The Athletic’s Dan Duggan, the left tackle should be “100 percent” by the start of the team’s offseason program, but he will likely be brought up to speed with caution, as they try to address the ankle issues that have bothered Thomas since he began his NFL career. He was placed on IR this past season with right ankle troubles and missing the previous game with a left foot injury.

Duggan reports Thomas underwent the surgery in late January.

Thomas, a former fourth overall draft pick, made 13 starts in 2021, and stood above the rest of Big Blue’s offensive line, allowing just 18 pressures on 517 pass-blocking attempts, per Pro Football Focus. He was the only Giants player on PFF’s Top 101 list this season, coming in at No. 80.

Thomas also added in a touchdown reception from Daniel Jones this past season, but his quality work came in the trenches, where he ranked 12th among offensive tackles with an 82.1 pass blocking grade, per PFF.
