Isaish Hodgins went from buried on the Bills’ depth chart to the Giants’ WR1 in the span of three months – and now, he’s a Giant for 2023.

The team announced that they have signed Hodgins, who was set to become an exclusive rights free agent, to a one-year deal. Terms were not announced, but as an exclusive rights free agent – a designation given to a player with less than three seasons and an expiring deal – the Giants needed only to offer hum the league minimum.
Hodgins likely got more than that though, as the former sixth-round pick of the Bills exploded after being claimed off waivers in November. His familiarity with Brian Daboll’s system certainly helped him claim a role in the Giants’ heavily-depleted WR corps, and he ended up catching 33 passes for 351 yards and four touchdowns in eight games, and then went nine for 108 and a score during Big Blue’s playoff run.
Wide receiver is still an area the Giants will likely look to upgrade given the injuries and free agent losses (and likely departure of Kenny Golladay somehow), but Hodgins is at least locked in for now.
