John Harbaugh has reportedly made his next big hire as Giants head coach.

According to multiple reports, New York is bringing in Matt Nagy as their offensive coordinator, as the former Chiefs OC will be tasked with developing Jaxson Dart and improving a Giants offense that mainly struggled in the Brian Daboll/Mike Kafka era.

Nagy spent the past three seasons as the Chiefs offensive coordinator, working with Kansas City head coach Andy Reid (who was responsible for play calling), who Harbaugh has plenty of familiarity with. Nagy had interviewed for head coaching positions during this cycle, but did not land any of the open jobs. He was the Bears head coach from 2018 to 2021.

Harbaugh had initially coveted Todd Monken, his offensive coordinator with the Ravens, but Monken took the head coaching job with the Browns. Kliff Kingsbury and Brian Callahan were among the notable candidates that were also being considered for the job.

The Giants were fifth in the NFL in rushing last season as the offensive line seemed to stabilize after years of struggles. The rushing game should get a boost when Cam Skattebo returns from season-ending ankle surgery, while top wide receiver Malik Nabers will be back around Week 1 or later from a torn ACL suffered earlier in the season.
