Saquon Barkley appeared on the 2nd Wind podcast on Tuesday and said that he feels like he’s not just back, but better than he was before his ACL injury, and that this season, the mindset is ‘F--k everybody’ when it comes to his critics.
Gio had some thoughts on that.
“Can’t wait for that first carry of three yards, ‘F everybody, I’m back!,’” Gio said. After Week 1: 12 carries, 27 yards, no touchdowns. ‘F you everybody! Saquon is back!’
“I like the fact that’s he’s got a chip on his shoulder…but he’s been saying a lot of stuff this camp, talking about critics. He better have a good year.”
Barkley also added that he’s not out to satisfy anybody, and just wants to be a great player. Gio, who has already said he believes the Barkley era in New York should be over, couldn’t let that one slide either.
“If he’s trying not to satisfy the Giants fans,” Gio said. “He’s doing a great job.”
