Derrick Henry is usually the one delivering bruising hits to defensive players as he rumbles through them, so you knew that this hit from Giants linebacker Tae Crowder Sunday that knocked Henry for a loop would go viral:

Indeed it has, but when asked about it on Monday, Crowder wanted to downplay it as just another football play.

“I’m aware of it, but I don't really pay too much attention to it,” Crowder said. “I just try to prepare the right way, and it ended up being a good play. The D-line did a good job, and everyone around me did a good job of flying to the ball.”

Henry has been one of the premier backs in the NFL for the last few years, but the Giants D did as good a job corralling him as you possibly could: 21 carries for 82 yards, and nothing over 20.

Nothing special, Crowder said, just hard work.

“It's just coming to work every day and the coaches pushing us to be the best we can. We just want to keep on getting better and preparing the right way,” he said.

They will face another premier back in Christian McCaffrey on Sunday, albeit one with a different skill set – but that won’t change the Giants’ plans much, outside of maybe some different personnel to account for McCaffrey’s receiving prowess.

“I really don't think it's about whoever it is. It's just about us and what we do this week,” Crowder said. “Obviously, it'll be a difference, but it's not really about what they're going to do. It's about what we're going to do.”
