Injuries were aplenty in the first half of the Jets/Giants game at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, and one of them was to Big Blue’s backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor.
Taylor was hurt while being taken to the ground on a scramble in the second quarter after the ball slipped out of his hand on a pass attempt. The quarterback was in obvious pain as he made his way to the sideline, and eventually the locker room.
Taylor was ruled out with a ribs injury, and was taken to a nearby hospital.
New Jersey native Tommy DeVito replaced Taylor, originally the third-string quarterback before Daniel Jones went down, and now Taylor.
Darren Waller, listed as questionable for the game with a hamstring injury before giving it a go, was also ruled out after a brief stint in the first half. On the Jets side, Connor McGovern and Wes Schweitzer were also taken out with injuries, as was defensive tackle Al Woods.
