The Giants are on their bye this weekend, and that actually upsets Gio, who wanted to watch Tommy DeVito work and bring some light to an otherwise lost season for Big Blue.
“I’m gonna miss Tommy DeVito this week,” Gio said. “I really am.”
With Tyrod Taylor nearing a return from a ribs injury, Gio is also worried that he may not get to watch DeVito again when Big Blue returns to action next week.
“Hopefully Brian Daboll doesn’t sit him down or do something silly,” Gio said. “Because we’re all in on Tommy DeVito.”
In the meantime, DeVito has become a sensation as the local Jersey kid living out a dream as the starting quarterback of the team he grew up with. If it is a flash in the pan, Gio hopes DeVito is spending his bye week embracing his sudden stardom.
“Just do everything,” Gio said. “Everything you could possibly do. Every appearance, every autograph signing, shoot your shot with an Instagram model or something. Do whatever you need to do. Now is the time.”
