Gio is officially riding with the Giants on Sunday, and is tired of Boomer predicting a “squash spot” or a “slam spot” for the Jets.
“The Giants are my lil’ boo thing this Sunday”, Gio said. “Boomer has, somehow someway, ignited Giants fandom in me for the first time ever.
“I think it was how dismissive you’ve been about the Giants in this game, and how they’re gonna get killed, and it just didn’t seem fair to me to these Giants players who are working so hard out there every day to support their families. It was sort of disrespectful to my guy Brian Daboll.”
Gio went on to wear a Giants helmet for the entire final hour of Friday’s show to show his allegiance.
As for Boomer, he felt Gio was off the mark in how Boomer assessed the Giants, but does ultimately feel like the Jets will win going away on Sunday, not much of a change from a week ago, when he called Gang Green “a lock” to beat Big Blue.
“These games are hard. they’re never easy,” Boomer said. “I do think the Jets, coming off a bye, are in a much better situation injury wise…and I just think the Jets have a better team, and they will win this game comfortably.”
