Gio: Giants 'better win' next two games before schedule gets more daunting

The 6-3 Giants are coming off a bye week to take on the lowly Texans on Sunday, before they welcome the 2-6 Lions.

Gio says the time is now to grab two winnable games and enter a stretch of divisional play that can determine where Big Blue sits in the playoff race.

“This entire year, we’ve been saying ‘Hey, if the Giants can win this game, that would be nice.’ Now, as we go into this game, off a bye, with this opponent, the thought process is, ‘They better win this game,’ and not only that, they better beat the Lions next week too,” Gio said.

“The Giants, and I say this confidently, are significantly better than both of these teams coming up, and they’ve got both of them at home.”

Gio noted the importance of these next two games is increased when considering what lies beyond them for Big Blue. The Giants still have the Vikings, Cowboys, and two games against the Eagles on their schedule, while two games against the sub-.500 Commanders is still never easy. So, while the Giants are one of the biggest surprises in the NFL, the expectations can change, and New York needs to capitalize on their strong start by taking two winnable games and solidifying their spot as a playoff team.
