Gio: Giants won't be able to hide behind Jets headlines any longer if they lose to Seahawks

The Jets have dominated the New York football spotlight since adding Aaron Rodgers, and has kept it even since Rodgers went down, due to their relentless belief in Zach Wilson.

Meanwhile, the Giants remain on the backburner, but Gio says that will change in a hurry if they lose to the Seahawks on Monday, when there is no other team playing to serve as a distraction.

“The Giants have sort have just disappeared off the face of the earth,” Gio said. “It’s amazing how the Jets sucked the life out of us in a good way, and the Giants were on the backburner in the offseason, and now in a bad way, and the Giants are sort of just secondary.

“The Jets will play Sunday night, we’ll be yelling and screaming about them on Monday as they lose to the Chiefs, and Monday night, it’s gonna be all about the Giants, and if they lose, we’ll be here Tuesday talking about their season being over.”

Should the Giants lose to Seattle and fall to 1-3, it will be Big Blue dominating the headlines with the reality that the season is already almost over, like how many are starting to feel about the Jets.

“They’re gonna get thrust right back into the spotlight on Tuesday if they lose that game,” Gio said. “They desperately need to be 2-2 with that schedule coming up. If we’re sitting here with two 1-3 teams as we head into October, it would be awful. It would remind me of all these putrid years we’ve suffered through since 2018, which were supposed to be gone.”
