Gio has big concerns about Giants quarterback situation

The Giants will roll out Daniel Jones and Tommy DeVito as their two quarterbacks for Sunday’s game against the Raiders, and Gio says that is a recipe for trouble.

With Jones coming off a neck injury, the second in three seasons, that kept him out of the last three games, and DeVito seemingly having no trust from his coaching staff to throw the ball, Gio says Big Blue seems very unprepared for potential disaster.

“I know there are injuries, and that’s a big deal. But having Tommy DeVito seem like he can’t do anything…the couple of throws he threw, the sideways, throws, it didn’t look good at all,” Gio said. “With Daniel Jones coming back from this neck injury, and how injury prone he has been…and you signed Matt Barkley, he’s gotta be the backup! He’s gotta be!”

Instead, DeVito was signed to the active roster to seemingly back up Jones while Tyrod Taylor sits with a ribs injury. It doesn’t seem like a very secure situation for Gio’s liking.

“Daniel Jones is coming back from a second neck injury where he was feeling tingling down his side,” Gio said. “This guy has been getting his ass kicked all year. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that [Raiders defensive end] Max Crosby sends him to the sidelines again this week.”
