The Giants have hired Chad Hall as an assistant quarterbacks coach, and a seemingly under-the-radar hire has perked up the ears of Big Blue fans because of Hall’s familial ties.
Hall is the brother-in-law of Matthew Stafford, who is rumored to be a likely trade candidate with the Rams after losing in the divisional round to the eventual Super Bowl champion Eagles.
With Hall now in the fold, is it a message that the Giants are looking to land the 37-year-old to lead their team next season? If they can make the finances work, Gio would be all in, as it would open the door for Big Blue to land one of two studs in the draft instead of taking a quarterback.
“I would be so fired up about the Giants if they drafted Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter and had Matthew Stafford as their quarterback,” Gio said.
“Are you guys nuts? There is a definite football derangement thing going on here… ‘We can’t bring Matthew Stafford in here.’ Are you crazy??”
Boomer agrees that both Hunter and Carter are more exciting prospects than Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders, and while he doesn’t believe the finances could work for the Giants to get Stafford, he would love to see Hunter or Carter in New York.
“Two of those best players are Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter,” Boomer said. “He is a monster. Whoever gets him is gonna be lucky to get him.”
