Gio: No stat can surprise me when it comes to Giants futility
The stats were plentiful after the Giants’ loss to the Cowboys on Thursday night, from Dak Prescott now holding a 13-game winning streak against Big Blue to New York having two receivers with at least 11 catches, but still failing to find the end zone.
For Gio, none of the stats will surprise him anymore when it comes to New York’s struggles that have gone on for years.
“It’s been really, really bad...there’s nothing amazing about the Giants’ futility that you can read me,” Gio said. “That’s who they are. They have stunk for so long. There is not a negative Giants stat that you can read me that I would be surprised about.
“We have lived it. And here we are again...they’re 1-3, and they’re probably gonna be 1-5.”
Daniel Jones didn’t throw a touchdown pass despite looking solid for the third straight game, and Gio says that is par for the course as well, as that is his ceiling, which has also been known for years.
“We know exactly what Daniel Jones is. We saw him at his best in 2022,” Gio said. “He didn’t even throw that many touchdowns, and then he played the game of his life in a playoff game against an atrocious defense.”
So, nothing will surprise Gio when it comes to the Giants’ issues, and Boomer had to admit that it’s all feeling rather familiar.
“I feel like this is where we’ve been for the last six or seven years with the Giants,” Boomer said. “Three different general managers, four different head coaches.”
