Jalin Hyatt told reporters at Giants minicamp on Thursday that he believes Big Blue has a playoff team heading into the season, which Gio didn’t want to hear.
“He did the classic thing that you’re never supposed to do in the preseason,” Gio said. “It doesn’t mean anything really if he says that or not, and it’s nice that he has confidence, but you don’t have a playoff team.”
Gio doesn’t buy into this Giants team, especially with Daniel Jones set to be the starting quarterback once again, and while he believes in Hyatt’s future, he doesn’t see the wide receiver playing in a playoff game this season, despite his outward confidence.
“I really like Jalin Hyatt. I think he’s gonna be a really good player for the Giants,” Gio said. “There’s just no reason to say ‘we have a playoff team.’”
