The ending of the Chiefs/Bills game was mired in controversy, as a phenomenal touchdown off a backwards pass from Travis Kelce was waved off due to an offsides call on Kadarius Toney.
Replay showed Toney was lined up well in the neutral zone, despite Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid openly criticizing the call from the officials. Gio says the officials, who have been under the microscope all season, did nothing wrong by calling off the score.
“If you know Kadarius Toney and watched his Giants tenure here, everybody that saw that play, their reaction was, ‘Kadarius Toney is an idiot,’” Gio said. “Not ‘The officials cost the Chiefs the game.’ It’s ‘Kadarius Toney is an idiot for doing that.’
“It’s not like the officials inserted themselves into the game…this happened, and it was a penalty. The guy lined up in the neutral zone. It was clear as day.”
