Gio: 'Ridiculous' to entertain possibility of Giants quarterback controversy

Brian Daboll was asked on Monday if there could be a quarterback controversy if Daniel Jones is ready to go on Sunday against the Commanders, which Daboll quickly dismissed.

Gio couldn’t believe the question was even asked.

“I know Daniel Jones and the Giants offense has been terrible this year…but to act like Tyrod Taylor went out there and three for 350 yards and four touchdowns, and now there’s gonna be some quarterback controversy, is ridiculous,” Gio said. “He was fine, but still, the offense didn’t get the job done, he made the critical error that probably cost them the game at the end of the second quarter, you just paid Daniel Jones $40 million, and you’re asking if there’s a quarterback controversy? Just stop.”

Taylor and the Giants came one yard, and one play, short of shocking the Bills on Sunday night, but Gio believes the offense, even with Saquon Barkley back, didn’t look nearly good enough to warrant such a question.

“If the Giants beat the Bills…and Tyrod Taylor was the Offensive Player of the Week, I could understand,” Gio said. “But the offense still didn’t look good.”
