Giants fans were left holding their collective breath after Jaxon Dart limped off the field with what looked like a knee injury.
Dart came up lame on the first drive of Monday night's game against the Rams after taking a heavy hit in the backfield while firing a pass downfield on third down. Dart was hit from his right side by Rams linebacker Byron Young as his legs left the turf, and was immediately hit from the other side by Josaiah Stewart, sending Dart's knee bending in a seemingly unnatural way.
Dart limped off the field under his own power following the play, and was looked at by trainers in the medical tent while Jameis Winston took over under center on the next drive. Dart then walked to the Giants locker room, and the team announced he was questionable to return with a knee injury.
Dart, early in his second NFL season, is coming off a monster Week 1 performance against Dallas, throwing for three touchdowns in a statement victory.
