Jerry Recco: Brian Daboll looks like a 'beaten man' after another Giants loss

Brian Daboll continued his usual refrains after Sunday’s loss to the Falcons, which set a franchise record of 10 consecutive defeats.

The Giants head coach maintained that he was only focused on the latest loss, and not worried about the big picture of this historically bad season, or what it can mean for his future.

For Jerry Recco, Daboll sounded like a head coach dejected from so much losing with so few answers.

“He looks like a beaten man now,” Jerry said. “That is a tough spot too, to be a reporter. Those questions, it sucks asking those questions.”

Jerry isn’t sure what ownership will do at the end of this miserable season, but watching the games every Sunday, and how poor the product has looked for nearly three months, he also isn’t sure what fans want to see from Daboll at this point.

“They have no quarterback and they are beyond banged up,” Jerry said. “If John Mara fires Joe Schoen or Brian Daboll, or one or the other, I understand. But you want the No. 1 pick at this point and the season has long been over. What do you want them to do? This is such a terrible spot to be in.

“This has collapsed beyond anything to the point where I thought it could collapse to. It’s just a mess.”
