Keith: Giants need to take wide receiver with first pick

The NFL Draft is less than a week away, and Keith says the Giants and Joe Schoen should be looking at wide receiver with their sixth overall pick.

Keith says Big Blue needs more weapons, and while they will need a quarterback for the future, this draft doesn’t provide a clear solution at the position outside of the top two picks. So the Giants should address another key position of need.

“Your leading receiver, Darius Slayton, he wants more money. He’s gonna hold out,” Keith said. “You lost your most explosive playmaker in Saquon Barkley. You need somebody that can break the game open. Malik Nabers might be there for the taking…you guys hit on a guy from LSU 10 years ago [in Odell Beckham Jr.]. I think history repeats itself. LSU is a wide receiver factory.”

Keith would even go as far as to say that if Ohio State star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is still on the board at pick five, the Giants should consider trading up a pick to ensure they get him.

“If the first four teams want quarterbacks, the Jets and Giants should be on the phone about Marvin Harrison Jr,” Keith said. “He’s a sure-fire NFL prospect. His dad was grooming him from the beginning.

“This is pretty simple, folks. Don’t reach for a quarterback. How many times do these quarterbacks just miss?”
