Keith: Giants should sit Daniel Jones Sunday for his own protection

Brian Daboll sounded optimistic that Daniel Jones will be ready to go on Sunday against the Bills, but even if his neck feels better to the point where he could play, Keith believes Jones should sit for the sake of preserving his health.

“I don’t think they should put him in harm’s way,” Keith said. “Let Tyrod [Taylor] rock. Let Tyrod run around. What do you have to lose there? Let Tyrod play against the Bills.”

Jones has been under constant assault this season, especially over the past two weeks. After being sacked 10 times against the Seahawks in Week 4, Jones took six sacks on Sunday against Miami, the sixth sack being the one that knocked Jones out of the game with a neck injury. If Keith were in the Giants coach’s office, he would keep Jones on the bench to avoid further injury, as he currently has no time in the pocket seemingly every snap.

“When is he gonna make a play? When he has time to set his feet and throw!” Keith said. “He has no chance to succeed. It’s hard to evaluate his play with what’s going on around him.”
