Saquon Barkley picked up the hat trick on Sunday afternoon, rushing for three touchdowns as the Eagles rolled over the division rival Commanders to reach the Super Bowl.
It was a career milestone for Barkley, who is in the Big Game just one season after leaving New York, and Chris McMonigle is sick and tired of hearing the NFL world talk about Barkley’s former team, and the circumstances behind him leaving, to exhaustion.
“They can’t let it go. They just can’t let it go,” C-Mac said. “The broadcast is telling you all the time. Is this guy ever gonna be a Philadelphia Eagle, or is he gonna be a former Giant the rest of his career?”
The television broadcast was talking about the Giants and their decision to not bring back Barkley as the final minutes were counting down in Sunday’s game, and C-Mac couldn’t believe they weren’t focused on Barkley’s current team getting set to reach the Super Bowl for the second time in three years.
“All anyone wants to talk about is Joe Schoen saying you don’t pay a quarterback $40 million to hand off to a $12 million running back, and that the Giants let him go,” C-Mac said. “I don’t understand why we’re still talking about it. it’s the NFC Championship game. The Giants literally could not be further from this game…they don’t deserve to have their name mentioned in an NFC Championship game broadcast, yet it’s all we want to talk about.”
